Almaden Bank is the large studio in the MFAB Lower School facility. The room is 33' x 16', with a sprung, wood floor, Marley surface, fixed barres, professional sound system, baby grand piano, and automatically controlled heat and humidity. It offers the best possible conditions for classical ballet dancing, photo shoots, workshops, community events and can be converted to a performance venue for plays, small ensembles, bands and solo musicians. When converted for performance it seats 100 with room for a 16' x 12' stage area. Almaden Bank can also be used to record and/or video tape performances, electronic press kits, and demo reels. Almaden Bank has displays of several life-size photo portraits of Fonteyn from various eras in her career, all from the Lincoln Center Library exhibit "Fonteyn in America". It is also the location of occasional art exhibitions, curated in part by Level 3 and Level 4 students. Almaden Bank is also transformed into a 100-seat concert venue for local, national, and international musical acts. It is also available for workshops, lectures and other public functions. MFAB holds bi-monthly Give-Aways for the needy in Northern Westchester. YOu can learn more about this program in the "Contributions" menu option on our website. |
