Upper School students must be graduates of the Lower School, or (upon rare occasions) by approval of the Head Master, and must also have passed the examination series. This series consists of:

Once accepted into the upper school, the student turns their full extra-curricular
attention to ballet. They will have one or two technique classes each day, study
either pointe or male technique regularly, partnering, variation, character
dancing and take advanced courses in general arts (or have an internship).

The levels of the Upper School are based on the ranks in a classical ballet
company: apprentice, corps de ballet, soloist, principal. To pass to the next
rank you must dance before a review panel, and perform certain pieces for the
public. Below is a list of the requirements for entry to each level of the
Upper School:
