The National Arts Group has sponsored performances around the world and throughout the contiguous United States with its company Les Ballets du Monde. This company is formed each time a ballet production has been the undertaking of the National Arts Group, within the purview of the original Summergate Dance Theater, Inc. But the ultimate goal has always been to form a major classical ballet company and orchestra.

This company is planned as the American National Ballet.

The American National Ballet will be a classical theatrical dance company dedicated to providing world-class performances to as wide an audience as possible. While there is uplifting and fulfilling entertainment experience in any dance performance, American National Ballet carries this one step further. While the company keeps up a year-round schedule of performances, it also produces a comprehensive library of performances on DVD. These DVDs include special educational features, along with town hall type interviews with the various artists and technicians associated with a particular work.

American National Ballet will offer pure classical ballet, more recent classics and contemporary dance works. The classics were once new works being tried out on audiences of the past. What makes any work a classic is a combination of things. Such a work is universal in message by dealing with elements of living everyone experiences. But a classic also goes beyond the obvious experience, reaching into the emotional scope of the heart and bringing it alive with possibility. Classics also offer metaphors and mythic experiences to audiences. The American National Ballet’s repertoire will offer it all.

Our new works to date have been designed to bring contemporary trappings to dance settings, and involve youth, and ANB will take this many steps further. By having new works created for the company by its resident choreographers or guest choreographers, we make it possible for audience members and people who attend our educational programs to enter a dialog with choreographers, the people who make the dances.

An evening of ballet is designed to hold together and offer solid entertainment, balanced emotional and musical experiences, and give audience members a break from the drudgery of their every day lives. A solid and balanced program can be a catalyst of dreams, the spark of romance, give hope, and help to grieve. We have fashioned our repertoire to achieve all of these with Les Ballets du Monde and have learned very well how to create this magical and inspirational balance. In the future, the American National Ballet will continue to offer the highest level of technical and artistic work so that new audiences develop sophisticated taste for this form of artistic expression, and established ballet enthusiasts are given substantial cultural fulfillment.

The American National Ballet will be viewed all across the United States with live performances, free to the public but ticketed for organizational and capacity reasons. And while ANB performances are all designed as memorable and significant evenings of ballet performance, there is always a dedication to education in every National Arts Group program, including this one.

The American National Ballet accomplishes this through various other programs that will occur throughout the tours, as well as a series of programs prepared, presented and recorded while the company is not touring.p/
